DataBank Announces Expansion of Its “IND1” Indianapolis Data Center

Expansion adds space and power capabilities to meet growing customer demands for the geographically-strategic site

Dallas, TX – April 30, 2021 – DataBank, a leading provider of enterprise-class colocation, connectivity, and managed services, announces the significant expansion of its IND1 data center. As part of the expansion, DataBank will add 6500 square feet of raised floor space and an additional megawatt of power to meet the growing demands from customers.

IND1 is strategically located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and is part of the Henry Street area, the crossroads of fiber and telecommunications for the State of Indiana.

Indianapolis is best known for its annual Indy 500 auto race, which DataBank is a sponsor of in 2021. But in recent years, the city has become one of the Midwest’s fastest-growing tech ecosystems too. A business-friendly environment, low cost of living, and proximity to vaunted educational institutions make for a fertile ground in which any company can grow. These factors, combined with low power costs and ample network connectivity, have led an increasing numbers of large technology companies to put down roots in Indy resulting in an influx of skilled technology workers.

Security measures at IND1 include full perimeter fencing, round-the-clock on-site security personnel, and dual-factor authentication (card and biometric) on exterior entry and all data center entrances.

The facility meets a variety of key industry compliance standards, including HIPAA HITECH, AICPA-SOC, and PCI DSS and GDPR compliance designations.
