Maximize Your Business Efficiency With Our State-Of-The-Art Colocation Center

Maximize Your Business Efficiency With Our State-Of-The-Art Colocation Center

Discover the unmatched reliability, security, and flexibility of our premier colocation services

Colocation centers, often known as colos, are specialized facilities where businesses can rent space to house their servers and other computing hardware. These centers provide the physical infrastructure necessary for optimal operation. For example, they provide power, climate control, and network connectivity.

There are three main reasons why colocation centers have become highly important to modern businesses.

Reliability: This is ensured through redundant power supplies and network connections, guaranteeing continuous uptime even during power outages or network failures.

Security: This is a top priority, with measures such as biometric access controls, 24/7 surveillance, and strict entry protocols protecting sensitive equipment and data.

Efficiency: This is achieved by leveraging advanced cooling systems and scalable infrastructure, allowing businesses to optimize their IT resources without the overhead costs associated with maintaining an in-house data center. By utilizing colocation services, businesses can focus on their core operations while benefiting from a highly secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment.

Key features of our colocation center

Our colocation centers are designed to deliver what modern businesses need and want at a price they can afford. Here are just three of the key features of our colocation centers.

State-of-the-art infrastructure

Our colocation center is equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure designed to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Performance

DataBank’s colocation centers are designed to be able to support even the most demanding of high-performance computing installations. We offer energy-efficient infrastructure with effective power distribution and sophisticated cooling solutions.
Moreover, we have a rich ecosystem of networks, internet access, physical and virtual cross-connects, cloud on-ramps, and interconnection hubs.

Redundancy

We have implemented redundancy into every aspect of our operations including especially, power, cooling, and networking.

For power, we have an N+1 UPS configuration with a fully redundant automatic transfer switch (ATS) configuration. This is complemented by multiple redundant power distribution paths and power deployed by diverse delivery. There is also a dedicated on-site fuel supply for each of our backup generators.

For networking, we offer managed internet services supporting both IPv4 and IPv6, utilizing a multi-carrier blend with a fully redundant core routing infrastructure. Supports either IPs provided by DataBank or client-owned IP space. Our facilities have a carrier- and network-neutral design and there are diverse and secure telecom entries in the carrier-class meet-me-room.

Security

We implement the highest standards of physical and digital security. This is reflected in the fact that we have been able to achieve and maintain compliance with a range of major data security standards. In particular, our extensive automated security systems are monitored by human staff 24*7*365. Moreover, we authenticate our staff using multi-factor authentication that includes biometrics.

Scalability options

All our infrastructure is designed to be flexible and, hence, scalable. For example, we offer a range of designs for cabinets, cages, and suites. You can then customize these as you wish on an ongoing basis. If you need help figuring out the best solution for your situation, our team of engineers will be happy to assist.

As your situation changes, you can update your use of our facilities to reflect those changes. For example, you can move from a single rack deployment to a 10,000sq. ft. private suite (and back again if you wish). The flexibility of our infrastructure is matched by the flexibility of our approach to contracts and pricing.

Moreover, we understand that some of our customers may need or want to scale their infrastructure without having to send their own personnel on-site. We therefore offer extensive remote hands support. This can be used for anything from ad-hoc troubleshooting to updating installations.

Reliability and uptime guarantee

DataBank offers a 100% uptime guarantee. There are four key measures we take to ensure this level of reliability.

Redundancy: As previously mentioned, we implement redundancy in every aspect of our operations, including and especially power, cooling, and networking. We also have robust failover mechanisms to ensure that transitions between systems happen reliably and smoothly.

Monitoring and maintenance: In addition to ensuring routine maintenance is carried out appropriately, we use automated monitoring to detect ad-hoc issues promptly. These can then be remedied by our skilled team.

Security: Also as previously mentioned, we implement the highest standards of physical and digital security. This ensures that our premises are safe from security-related disruptions and, hence, enhances our reliability.

Disaster recovery: We hope for the best but we plan for the worst. We have robust business continuity and disaster recovery processes in place to protect our clients from the impact of disruptive events.

Colocation centers near me

In business, your location can have a significant influence on your level of success. This is certainly true about the location of data centers. In general, it’s best to locate your data center as close to your users as possible. Here are the five main reasons why.

Reduced latency: The closer a data center is to your users, the less latency they will experience. Fast data transfer is desirable in all environments. It’s crucial for environments that depend on quick responses such as real-time communication tools. Moreover, faster data transfer speeds also make for faster backup and recovery processes.

Easier access: If you’re managing your own equipment, then using a local data center will be the most convenient option for your staff. Not only does this help with employee satisfaction but it means they can spend more time on value-add tasks and less on travelling. It also reduces traveling costs.

Simpler communication: Local data centers will operate in your time zone and hence will probably keep the same core business hours as you. Its staff will be familiar with the local area and its key considerations so you will not need to spend time on explanations. It may even be possible for you to speak to people face-to-face at the data center or have them visit your place of business.

Support for local compliance programs: Most reputable data centers will support the mainstream compliance programs e.g. PCI/DSS. They will only support more niche programs such as state-level data security standards if they are clearly relevant to their customer base. This means they will probably support programs that apply in their local area but not necessarily their equivalents in other areas.

Boost to the local economy: Establishing a data center locally stimulates the regional economy by creating jobs and fostering technological advancements. This development can attract other businesses and investments to the area, leading to economic growth and a thriving business environment.

Why choose our colocation center?

Our value proposition is based on three key points. These are 24/7 support, extensive options for customization flexibility, and competitive pricing.

24/7 support: Not only do we offer a 100% uptime guarantee, but we also offer 24*7*365 support from skilled, technical staff. You can literally contact us at any time and be confident of speaking to a trained professional.

Customization and flexibility: With DataBank, you have the maximum possible level of control over your colocation deployment. That applies whether you want just a single rack or a 10,000-square-foot private cage. We also empower you to scale your deployments (up and down) in line with developments in your business. In fact, we even offer remote hands support if you need help with the process.

Competitive pricing: We aim to deliver the best value for money on the market. To prove this, we provide detailed, no-obligation quotes on demand.

Security measures

At DataBank colocation centers, security is a top priority. Here is a quick overview of the main physical and digital security measures we implement.

Physical security

We have monitored camera surveillance on all ingress/egress points and critical areas along with an intercom system. Our cameras have 90-day access log retention.

Additionally, we implement multi-factor authentication on exterior entry and all data center halls. This features coded access with a secondary biometric scanner. We also offer our customers a range of secure lock options including biometric, combination, and key locks.

Our physical security measures are all monitored by our on-site personnel who are present 24*7*365.

Data security

Our commitment to data security is reflected in the range of data security standards with which we comply. These include FedRAMP, FISMA, SSAE18, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and Privacy Shield – GDPR. We also hold ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.

As you would expect from this, we apply the most stringent controls to network/perimeter, continuous monitoring, system host, and physical/digital access to facilities/resources.

We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art hardware and software tools to ensure that these controls are effectively, consistently, and continuously implemented. We also review our controls regularly to ensure that they are always of the highest standards.

Arguably, however, our most valuable data security asset is our staff, particularly our in-house CISO, dedicated security engineering teams. Thanks to them (and our proven experience) DataBank is able to own up to 80% of compliance controls. This is a market-leading figure.
