On November 3, 2022, DataBank announced the appointment of Jenny Gerson as Senior Director of Sustainability to lead the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. In her role, Gerson is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to help DataBank reach its goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030, as directed by its parent company DigitalBridge. Her responsibilities span key ESG areas including diversity, employee engagement, health and safety programs, business ethics, cybersecurity, risk management, and governance. Gerson has begun conducting a materiality assessment to engage internal and external stakeholders and prioritize the ESG topics most relevant to DataBank’s business.
Gerson expressed enthusiasm about advancing DataBank’s ESG work and emphasized transparency and leadership support as critical to meeting objectives and fostering a strong workplace culture. Under her leadership, DataBank’s ESG efforts include its participation as a founding member of the Infrastructure Masons Climate Accord, a coalition of organizations working to accelerate the digital infrastructure industry’s push toward carbon neutrality. Gerson’s previous experience includes sustainable strategy roles at Maxar Technologies and Zayo Group, giving her a broad background in environmental and ESG leadership.
