DataBank announced the grand opening of its fourth Minneapolis metro data center, MSP3, located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The new facility encompasses 86,000 square feet of carrier-neutral space designed to support demanding enterprise and technology workloads. Initially equipped with 1.5 MW of critical power capacity, MSP3 is built to scale to 3 MW in its first hall, with future expansion planned to reach a total of 9 MW across three data halls. The center sits on a 14-acre campus that DataBank purchased in 2020, with a master plan providing up to 170,000 more square feet of space and an additional 18 MW of power for future phases.

DataBank CEO Raul Martynek emphasized the strength of Minneapolis as a destination for enterprise, cloud, and hyperscale workloads, highlighting the region’s concentration of Fortune 500 companies and thriving tech and research communities. The facility includes robust security and redundant infrastructure capabilities, such as N+1 cooling design, dual-factor authentication, and 24×7 monitoring. MSP3 also offers flexible fiber connectivity for enterprise customers and cloud partners, strengthening the Twin Cities’ edge data center ecosystem.
