DataBank announced a landmark leadership transition: Raul Martynek, who has served as CEO since 2017, will move to the role of Executive Chairman, and Kevin Ooley, current President and CFO, will become Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2027. Under Martynek’s leadership, DataBank grew from six data centers in three markets to more than 70 facilities across 25-plus markets, with revenue climbing from approximately $50 million to over $1 billion. The $1.4 billion acquisition of zColo in 2020 was a defining moment, establishing DataBank as the leading edge data center provider in the country.

Ooley, who joined DataBank in 2011 as CFO, has been the primary architect of the company’s financial and operational scaling, securing the capital partnerships with DigitalBridge, Swiss Life Asset Management, and AustralianSuper that have fueled DataBank’s growth. In his new role as CEO, he will focus on executing the company’s growth strategy across its 2,200-plus customer base as AI adoption continues to drive demand.
