DataBank has announced the opening of SLC6, its sixth data center in the Salt Lake City region, reinforcing its expansion in Utah’s fast-growing technology market. Located on the company’s 23-acre Granite Point campus in Bluffdale, the new facility delivers 171,000 square feet of space, including 100,000 square feet of raised floor. At launch, half of the raised floor is available to customers, with additional capacity coming online as demand increases. SLC6 includes two new data halls and initially provides 11 MW of power, with plans to add another 11 MW in the future.
Company leadership cites Utah’s emergence as a major technology hub—supported by favorable real estate conditions, robust connectivity, and a strong talent base—as a key driver of demand from both startups and large enterprises. SLC6 follows the opening of SLC5 in 2020 and subsequent campus expansions, bringing the total to six facilities at Granite Point. The project is part of DataBank’s broader growth strategy, supported by recent capital investments and expansion across multiple U.S. markets.
