Data Centre Magazine examines how DataBank has assembled US$1.45bn in new financing across two separate transactions, further strengthening the company’s balance sheet and accelerating development at its Red Oak campus in Texas. The deals reflect the increasingly sophisticated capital structures operators are building to keep pace with surging demand for digital infrastructure.

The larger transaction is a new US$800m revolving credit facility maturing in 2031, arranged by a syndicate led by Citizens Bank alongside seven additional lenders. The facility provides liquidity for working capital, capital expenditure, and future growth initiatives including acquisitions.

“This new revolving credit facility strengthens our financial flexibility and reflects the confidence our lending partners have in DataBank’s business model and long-term growth trajectory.”
— Raul Martynek, CEO, DataBank

Alongside the revolver, DataBank has expanded the financing package supporting its Red Oak campus by US$650m, bringing the total Red Oak financing to US$2.65bn. The upsize combines US$400m in bank financing with US$250m in privately placed notes, marking DataBank’s first private placement transaction and introducing the company to a broader pool of institutional investors.
