DataBank Announces Sale of French Data Centers to Etix Everywhere

On July 3, 2023, DataBank announced that it entered into a definitive agreement to sell its five French data centers — operating under the name zColo France SAS — to Etix Everywhere, a European edge data center operator. The portfolio includes facilities in Paris, Toulouse, and Montpellier and was originally acquired by DataBank in 2020 as part of its purchase of zColo’s assets. The deal, subject to customary regulatory approvals with a planned closing by the end of the third quarter of 2023, allows DataBank to reallocate capital and focus on its core U.S. operations, where its more than 65 data centers span over 27 markets.

Under the terms of the transaction, DataBank and Etix Everywhere will operate under a six‑month Transition Service Agreement (TSA) to ensure seamless continuity for customers and operational integration. Etix Everywhere, which already operates edge data centers in France and Belgium, expands its French footprint with this acquisition and strengthens its regional leadership. Financial and legal advisors supporting the deal include Guggenheim Partners for DataBank and ODDO BHF and Herbert Smith Freehills for Etix Everywhere.
