DataBank Ranked #17 on EPA Green Power Partnership Tech & Telecom Top 30

In early 2023, DataBank was recognized on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership Top 30 Tech & Telecom list for the third consecutive year, ranking #17 among major technology and telecommunications organizations for green power use. In 2022, the company procured nearly 190 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power, representing approximately 20 % of its total electricity needs and 28 % of direct utility consumption, highlighting its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of data center operations. The ranking reflects the company’s proactive sustainability strategy, including its pledge to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 2030 and its efforts to source renewable energy across multiple markets. DataBank already sources 100 % renewable energy in several facilities and plans to expand its use of zero-carbon power further. EPA’s Green Power Partnership encourages organizations to adopt green power solutions to reduce air pollution and drive demand for renewable energy.
