DataBank announced plans to expand its SAN1 data center in San Diego, California, through two phases that will increase both space and power. The first phase adds 40,000 square feet of raised floor space and 2 MW of critical power, nearly tripling the facility’s current size to 60,000 square feet. The second phase will add an additional 4 MW, bringing total IT capacity to 7.5 MW. SAN1 is a Tier III carrier-neutral interconnection hub with robust connectivity, security, and interconnect options. The expansion reflects growing demand from tech companies and startups in the San Diego metro, positioning DataBank to meet the region’s increasing infrastructure needs.
