Data Center Dynamics reported on Kinetic Seas Inc.’s completion of phase one AI infrastructure deployment at DataBank’s ORD4 data center in Oak Brook, Illinois. The implementation provides high-speed GPU and CPU resources for clients, educational programs, and internal product development, featuring extensive Nvidia-based GPU compute resources with 10GBps Internet connectivity.
Kinetic Seas deployed proprietary virtualization technology based on the Proxmox open-source platform, enabling clients to build AI-enabled environments and provision GPU and CPU resources without host migration. The company currently uses the platform to fine-tune large language models while providing AI consulting and infrastructure solutions from its Schaumburg headquarters.
DataBank’s ORD4 facility spans 77,000 square feet with 8.75MW of critical power capacity, positioning it to support growing AI workload requirements. The article noted DataBank secured a $725 million credit facility in April 2024 to fund expansion addressing surging demand driven by artificial intelligence applications across enterprise and technology sectors.
