SEA2 SeaTAC to Double Raised Floor Space and Critical Power Availability

Dallas, TX – April 13, 2023 – DataBank, a leading provider of enterprise-class colocation, connectivity, and managed services, announced today the planned expansion of its SEA2 SeaTAC data center in Tukwila, Washington. With a target completion date of Q4 2023, the expansion will more than double the raised floor space to 27,900 square feet while increasing the available critical IT power to three megawatts.

Located at 3311 South 120th Place in Tukwila and just 10 miles from DataBank’s SEA1 data center in downtown Seattle, SEA2 provides DataBank customers with direct access to six onsite carriers. The facility also features an N+1 UPS power design and N+1 cooling with a lower power cost than many other nearby data centers. SEA2 is also a carrier hotel and interconnection hub featuring access to many Internet, fiber, and cross-connect options. Security measures include dual-factor authentication, video surveillance, and CCTV.

SEA2 and SEA1 play critical roles in delivering compute capacity to the Seattle area, which has become a leading U.S. metro in the technology sector for generating job growth.
