Why use a cloud cross-connect instead of internet-based cloud access?

A cloud cross-connect gives you a private, dedicated link directly into a hyperscaler’s network, which means predictable latency, far lower egress costs at scale, and traffic that never traverses the public internet. For workloads that move large data sets, run hybrid architectures, or carry sensitive information, those characteristics translate directly into better performance, security, and operating economics. Internet-based cloud access still has a place, but it is rarely the right answer for production hybrid workloads.
